Moving with the Cycles of Life

Life is a series of cycles.  Our cycles of life are intertwined with the orbiting of the earth around the sun, and the moon around the earth. Unlike the these celestial bodies we don’t keep following the same pathways as we move through life. Life is about transformation and growth.

Resistance, be it from past experiences or systemic entanglements, can make you feel like you’ve been sucked out of the flow of life into an eddy –  into the fast-moving swirl of constant thoughts. Or pushed to the side, stuck in the stagnation of procrastination.

In January, I visited my sister in Sydney.  We never stopped doing. We told ourselves that our plans were fluid – so we never got to spend time away, slowing down.

By mid-summer, the mountain stream, which runs alongside the garden, slows to pools of water fed by springs dotted along its path.  There is no longer a sound of flowing water. It’s the sound of crashing waves that winds its way up river bed to the meditation platform that I now hear.

As I sit beside the pools of water and tune into the chirping of birds and the distant ocean, I realise it’s the first time this year that I have allowed myself to be as still as this pool of water.  It feels good.  I needed to come back to this special space in nature to remind myself that it’s okay to stop for a while.

It was only when I had that ah-ha moment beside the still waters that I saw the pattern of our time together. We engaged with the energy of the busyness of bees – something our mum excelled at too.  We were super productive.  But it was really a distraction to consciously acknowledge the ending of a cycle.

When we let ourselves move at a slower pace (or speed up if frozen) can we notice where we are in the many cycles that flow through our lives.  We need to allow for endings in cycles to that new ones can begin.  This is an invitation to join the Constellation Circle – “Permission to Slow Down” on 17 Tuesday February. Allow yourself to gracefully step back in the flow of the cycle of your life as you move into the new year.

This Sunday, I will be offering an Andean Despacho Ceremony to acknowledge the gift of still water and to give thanks to the springs that keep the water flowing in this part of the stream.  In the Andean tradition, water is an element that brings balance and reminds us that there is always a way around obstacles.

Hope to see you at these happenings, or if you feel the pull – for an intuitive healing session, one-on-one constellation or divination.

with love
Robyn
