“The Munay-Ki gives one the key for opening the door of perception and dreaming the new and better world into being. The Munay-Ki heal the wounds of the past, our childhood and our ancestral wounds, and the genetic and karmic inheritance we were born with.” Alberto Villoldo
An Invitation to join a journey of transformation & Home Coming
The word Munay means love in Quechua (a language from Peru), and Ki is energy in Japanese. This Munay Ki Journey is built around the 10 Munay Ki Rites originating from Peru. The Munay ki rites originate from the Q’ero shaman, descendants of the Inca, who have safeguarded these initiatory practices of spiritual empowerment and healing. Traditionally, these rites were only passed down in these lineages and kept secret. However, in recent decade,s there has been a shift, and these teachings are being shared with the world. The keepers of these rites (karpay) believe that humanity is at a pivotal point of transformation.
They felt that the Munay-Ki rites would help people to adjust to the changes everywhere by elevating their consciousness, healing old wounds, and stepping into a new way of being. The rites are described as “the next step in the evolution of humanity,” designed to assist individuals in integrating universal changes and adapting to a rapidly shifting world. These sacred Munay Ki Rites are stripped of the traces of the indigenous cultures. Alberto Villoldo, who first shared these rites outside of Peru, ensured this was done to respect the native traditions.
To deepen your journey, aspects of shamanism will be shared. These include creating sacred space, the elements of air, water, earth, and fire, the Luminous Energy Field (our aura) and how to sense it.
The Munay Ki rites are seeds planted in your luminous energy field. These energetic seeds require fire to grow (a flame from a candle will do). There are 10 sessions. Between sessions, you need to commit to daily meditation, grow the seeds of the rites and as you work with each chakra and its related archetype.
This journey runs from June to October 2025. There are 5 sessions in Hout Bay and 5 online sessions. The Hout Bay sessions will be beside the river (weather and river permitting) or inside beside the fireplace. Its at these sessions that you will receive the Munay Ki Rites. The online session will include teachings and the fortnightly Harmony Rite Archetype meditations.
You will receive a Pi Stone, a manual with information about the Munay Ki Rites and the aspects of shamanism that are shared, another on how to share the rites and, with meditation and self reflection, a new version of yourself.
As with all Munay Ki Journeys, there place for those of you who have already received the Munay Ki Rites. As part of deepening your connection to the Munay Ki rites you will share the rites with other people who have already received them.
The cost of the Munay Ki Journey is R3000. Payment plans are available.
For those who have already received the Munay Ki Rites, it is R2400. In order to deepen your connection with the Munay Ki Rites, those repeating the journey, will share the rites with each other.
The dates for the 2025 Journey are – 24 June, 9 July, 22 July, 5 August, 19 August, 2 Sept, 16 Sept, 30 Sept, 14 Oct, (optional) 30 Oct
(The journey starts in Hout Bay on 24 June, online dates are in italic. We alternate between Hout Bay and online)
Frequently Asked Questions
What is a Munay Ki Rite?
The rites are energetic seeds planted in your luminous energy field. You grow these energetic seeds with fire (a candle flame will do). Just as a seed planted into the earth needs nourishment from the earth and water to germinate and grow, so too do these energetic seeds. To receive the gifts of the rites, you need to set aside time to germinate the seeds with fire. This is a daily practice during the Munay Ki Journey.
There are 10 rites –
- The four Foundation Rites are the Healer’s Rite, Bands of Power, Harmony and Seers Rites. These foundation rites prepare our luminous energy field to hold the vibration and growth available in the next rites.
- The three Luminous Rites are the Daykeeper’s, Wisdomkeeper’s and Earthkeeper’s Rites, connect you to the luminous beings and archangels who are the guardians of our galaxy. The rites balance the masculine and feminine within you.
- Rites of Time to Come, consisting of the Starkeeper’s and the Creator Rite.
- The Rite of the Womb, which was added later, releases pain and trauma from the womb to create healing and self-love, creativity and to give life.

What makes the rites effective?
The rites are transmissions of energetic seeds planted in your luminous energy field. You grow these energetic seeds with fire (a candle flame will do). If a seed planted in the earth does not receive water, it will not germinate. A tended seed germinates and flourishes.
To receive the gifts of the rites, you need to set aside time to germinate the seeds with fire. This is part of the daily practice during the Munay Ki Journey. Time between receiving the rites allows for integration of the gifts of each of the rites.
Where do the Munay Ki Rites come from?
They come from Peru.
Alberto Villoldo, who had been working with the Q’ero who live in the Andes for over 25 years, was asked to share the rites with the West to assist us in dealing with the energetic shifts we are now encountering. They are traditionally shared with a person training to be a paq’o – or what some call a shaman. The rites (karpay) are shared over a number of years as the paq’o works with their teacher and builds experience.
Will I learn how to share the Munay Ki Rites?
Yes, you will receive a manual on how to share the rites. Before sharing each rite, Robyn will explain the process of sharing the rite.
Once you have received all rites and have completed the Harmony Rite meditations, you can share the rites.
How much time do I need to set aside each day?
You can do as little as is 3 – 5 minutes of meditation during the week. Then on weekends, put aside more time to journal after your meditation.
However, it is preferable to spend 10 – 15 minutes daily to grow the rite’s seed and embody the archetype from the Harmony rite, and to cleanse and reset the chakra you are working with for that fortnight.
I have witnessed, after many Munay Ki Journeys, that the more time spent daily growing the seeds, the greater the transformation.

Does receiving the Munay Ki rites make me a shaman?
No, it does not make you a shaman, but it is a significant step on a shamanic path.

What is shamanism?
This is a big question and could have pages in response. For me, it means tapping into the sacred unseen world, which adds more meaning to life – this can be building a deep relationship with your ancestors and/or the elements. It creates space for following your deepest knowing and trusting your intuition.
The path of shamanism I follow does not include plant medicine.
Why is the journey over 10 sessions?
The 10-session journey starts in Hout Bay on 24 June. Every 4 weeks, we gather in Hout Bay so that I can share 2 rites with you. This is done to give you time to feel the impact of each of the rites, absorb the gifts that each brings as you work with each rite – growing the seeds of the rite with fire (a candle flame will do).
Once you receive the Harmony Rite, we start working with each chakra and its related archetype. 2 weeks after meeting in Hout Bay, we meet online – to do a check-in and do a Harmony Rite meditation, each time working with a different chakra and an archetype. This is the main reason for the online sessions – so you are supported each time you start working with a new archetype.
When rites were originally shared, they were shared over one weekend. For me, this was too intense. The teachings shared during the journey provide context and deepen your connection to the elements.
